Life starts at 60, isn’t it??? The elders need uncompromised attention, love and care from their children at this age!! But Alas…. Is it possible?
Every day we observe and see many old age citizens who are forced to stay in old age homes. Having done everything for their kids–right from their schooling to career and marriage, we see many seniors loose all they have. In turn, the so called grown up son(s)/daughter(s)force these seniors to stay alone far away from them in such old age homes for their own privacy or career.
The old age homes provide facilities like housing, boarding, food, recreation, entertainment, medical facilities. But are they able to give Love, Affection and Care needed? The answer is a Big ‘NO’.
Sangini Foundation is happy to serve the lonely and at times, such neglected senior citizens living in such old age homes in Vadodara.
Volunteers compromising of a team, visit such centres, every Wednesday. Our volunteers provide this Seva by spending quality time and entertaining the senior citizens with singing Bhajans, Aartis, etc. In Navratri, folk songs are sung and folk dances are performed. Our main festivals like the Deepavali and Holi are celebrated with much joy and enthusiasm among the senior citizens. Colours are spread, rangolis are prepared, sweets are distributed, etc.
